Wordless Wednesday: Bubbles

Because Grandma brought these giant bubble wands at spring break!

Wordless Wednesday: Nesting

We have a little spot by our driveway bordered by rocks that used to have flowers. Hope filled it with a dozen or so round river rocks from our yard and laid on top of them. When I asked what she was doing she said "laying on my eggs".

(Not So) Wordless Wednesday: Spring!

I sent my good camera in to be repaired over Christmas and got it back a month ago, but never got around to putting it back together. I always regret that. I adore the photos it takes when it's in good working condition.

On a day when it's 50 degrees outside and your little girls have been begging to blow bubbles, you blow bubbles.

Sometimes at each other!

And when you have random giant bamboo sticks in your yard (from a coworker!) they apparently become your broomstick! Thanks Princess Sophia...

We won't talk about the dog poop that apparently has been accumulating in our yard all winter and was found by all 4 pairs of shoes... No, we don't have a dog.

I've been saying we won't be hiking on February 20th this year like we did last year, but if this weather keeps up it won't be far off.  You can't see there are still a few piles of snow in our yard (unheard of for this time of year), but it was so nice to be outside, I even pulled a few weeds.

Wordless Wednesday: At Grandma's House

Fun times were had at Grandma and Grandpa's house after Christmas when Aunt Priscilla and Uncle Dan came for the day.  Always great to suck another family member in to playing games!

Of course there was an excuse for a tea party!

Wordless Wednesday: First Days of School

Due to mom being out of the country, these are a bit late.

School actually started last Wednesday for this guy, third grade!  Hat tip to dad for taking the first day of school photos.

He says he's enjoying it so far!

Noah was also supposed to start school last week, but due to very tragic circumstances he actually didn't start until yesterday.

Yes, this is pretty much what life looks like around our house!

We had to find a new school for Noah on short notice (and from another country), but thankfully this one hadn't actually started so he was able to begin with all the other kids yesterday.

There are a couple kids there from his old school and it's a place he's familiar with.  He already told me he likes being there with some older kids too!

Officially a kindergartner and so excited for school!

Wordless Wednesday: 10 Years

For better or worse.  And these last 4 years have been mighty crazy!  I couldn't have imagined what my life would look like now and I can't imagine it any other way!

Wordless Wednesday: Water Babies!

These girls have gone from not wanting to put their faces underwater to this in 10 days!

My little swimmer babies! Their teacher has been teaching at this pool since my family moved here 23 years ago and my old neighbor, whose daughter was in Noah's class last week, said she was her teacher too, so that would be pushing 40 years! She's a pretty awesome teacher!

Wordless Wednesday: Kitchen Tear Down

We're living with my long suffering parents right now because it's kind of hard to have 4 kids in a house with no kitchen. Good thing I like my frozen veggies frozen because I couldn't warm them up if I wanted to!

This is what my messy kitchen used to look like, yes, complete with awesome yellow countertops.

Cabinets removed. You find some pretty gross stuff should down the side of the stove when you can't clean it...

The reason for the new kitchen... Major water damage and dry rot.

It was more extensive than we thought, going into the wall plate and out under the main part of the floor requiring that we rip up and replace the floor. That messed up the schedule.

Everything repaired, now begins the reinstallation.

Totally empty kitchen with new flooring base.

My living room is inaccessible. Another reason why the kids can't be here!

Yesterday my job was, new paint!  Random pattern and all.

Tomorrow, the cabinets start going in, next week new floor and when we set the old countertops back on temporarily we might get to come back... Although we still won't have a functioning sink. Next up, plumbing repair.

Wordless Wednesday: Daddy's Crew

Poor Cory was developing a royal headache, but the rest of the crew was enthralled by the airport.

Wordless Wednesday: Puff Balls

Our yard is already taken over by dandelions so why not at least have a little fun with them...

Wordless Wednesday: Snuggles

This is what happens when I take a nap and the girls find me after their nap is over.  It reminded me of another photo from exactly three years and one month ago.  How has it even been three years already?

And now I'm sitting here listening to them sing and giggle in the next room.  Crazy girls!

Wordless Wednesday: Games with Grandma

We're so happy to have had Grandma and Grandpa here with us this whole past week!  One last game of Candy Land before they headed home this morning.  They are greatly loved!

Wordless Wednesday: Biker Crew

The neighbor Mark encouraging the kids to ride...

Cory got a flat tire and Hope was very interested in helping fix it!

"Wrench!"

Now we know what tires look like on the inside!

Wordless Wednesday: Broken

For those of you who aren't on Facebook (hi Wendy!) but check the blog religiously, yes, this week has not gone according to plan.

Sunday afternoon at a birthday party at a local gymnastics place my little one was just trying to stay out of her big brother's way and fell off the side of a trampoline.  I'm sure it sounds much worse than it was, she jumps off things that high at home all the time, it's just this was a fall and she wasn't ready for it.

Hairline fracture just below the knee, but not in the growth plate at all.  So today she got to pick a pretty purple cast (which she will have for the next 6 weeks) and here we go.

Wordless Wednesday: Christmas Giving

I'm pretty sure this is my absolute favorite photo from Christmas this year.  Although I'm just now getting a chance to really go through them.  Hope and Grandpa.

Wordless Wednesday: Gingerbread Line-Up

From our third (and final) Christmas gathering this past weekend.  One of my cousins brought fun gingerbread kids for all the kids to make one.  They lasted long enough for me to take a group picture and then they all got eaten.  "None" kids were sleeping early that night!

(None being the way Noah says no when referring to things)

(Not So) Wordless Wednesday: Thanksgiving Weekend

These are the crazies that Grandma got to put up with all weekend!

Grandma and Grandpa were coming for a week for Thanksgiving, but on their arrival here in town Tuesday night they went straight to the hospital because Grandpa had a heart attack on the drive over.  (We won't talk about the crazy couple of hours we had playing phone tag and trying to figure out exactly where they were!)

So Grandpa missed Thanksgiving, spending 2+ days in the hospital and then was pretty tired.  The kids all understood that he was "sick", but they sure were sad to miss playing with him.

Grandma spent more time at our house playing and doing things with them, but it sure wasn't the Thanksgiving weekend we were expecting!  This is the only photo I really have from the weekend with them all together and I have none of Grandpa.

We are thankful that he is okay for the most part though!

Wordless Wednesday: Playing in Jammies

Someone snuck into her brother's room and was enjoying playing with the "real" Legos!

Sisters love to read books, in bed, together.  This was legit, but I will often find them like this after lights out time when I hear the light flip on in their room.

Please vote for our above photo in the November Tea Collection contest!
