Compassion's Dominican Republic Trip

This week a group of bloggers are visiting the Dominican Republic. The trip is sponsored by Compassion International with the goal of letting them see the ministry first hand and write about it.

If you'd like to read along you can start with this link (Compassion Blogger Page) where all the blogger's posts or links are listed. There is some video as well.

I already was reading two of them: BigMama and The Pioneer Woman (actually it's her husband, Marlboro Man, who's on the trip with their two daughters). I recommend starting with them if you're interested in reading about the trip. BigMama writes with heart and a lot of laughs! And there's nothing like reading about a trip like this from the perspective of some kids who are the same age as the children in the projects.

Also Shaun Groves is one of the leaders.

Even if you're not interested in reading about the trip I would ask you to consider Compassion. Their purpose in ministry is "releasing children from poverty in Jesus name". They do this in a number of different ways, but most importantly these children are welcomed with open arms no matter what.

Please go and look at these beautiful children who need sponsors!
