Book: Trouble the Water

This week, the

Trouble the Water

Once again I read this book in one day while on vacation. I couldn't put it down, but for a very different reason than the last one.

Trouble the Water is the story of three women. Honor Maddox has had a very hard life. She comes to St. Anne's Island to try to start anew, but ends up trying to commit suicide. This starts her on a strange journey of recovery through which she meets a group of Gullah nannies and a lady called the Duchess.

The story is told by Honor, her sister Alice, and the Duchess. You have to pay attention to when the narration switches (and also the times) or you get really confused! This book had a few twists that I wasn't expecting, but that makes for a good story because you wouldn't want to be able to figure out the ending halfway through now would you? I can't really tell you much more without giving too much away.

So if you'd like to read this book yourself leave me a note with a way to get a hold of you and I will draw for a winner one week from today.
